The Portland Metro Area Gets The Worst NFL Games: Week 8

Last week was officially graded as a “solid” week for NFL on TV in the Portland-Metro Area. Will this week be any different? Let’s find out.

Here is what we have coming up for Week 8:

Thursday Night

Redskins @ Vikings

This is terrible! The Redskins might be the worst team in football. The Vikings have the most boring generic create a player white QB.

CBS Early

Bengals @ Rams

This is terrible! The Bengals might be the worst team in football. The Rams have a few superstars, but not enough for me to tune in to this game.

Fox Early

Seahawks @ Falcons

This is terrible! The Falcons might be the worst team in football. By now, you should know how I feel about watching the Seahawks play.

CBS Late

Browns @ Patriots

Finally – a watchable game. The Browns have their version of solid players, the Patriots are the Patriots. Should be a good game, could be a blowout.

Sunday Night

Packers @ Chiefs

I despise Aaron Rodgers. The Chiefs are fun to watch, but are they fun to watch with Matt Moor at QB?

Monday Night

Dolphins @ Steelers

This has to be a joke, right? There is no way that this is the Monday Night game.

Wrap-Up

This might actually be “The Worst” week of football games we have had on TV. The Falcons, Redskins, Steelers, Dolphins, and Bengals have combined for a 4-29 record. We somehow have the opportunity to watch them all play this week. Yikes.

The Portland Metro Area Gets Solid NFL Games: Week 7

Last week was officially graded as an “OK” for NFL on TV in the Portland-Metro Area. Will this week be any different? Let’s find out.

Here is what we have coming up for Week 7:

Thursday Night

Chiefs @ Broncos

I am always down to watch Patrick Mahomes play – especially if it is on a Thursday night. The Chiefs offense has sputtered a bit recently – and I am hoping they bounce back after a few losses. Like Tyreek Hill in the gif above – we are saying peace to the boring Thursday Night games we have had so far this year.

CBS Early

Raiders @ Packers

Gross. Jon Gruden and Aaron Rodgers in the same game. Who will the announcers gush over more?

Fox Early

49ers @ Redskins

This is an odd, yet intriguing game. The 49ers have been playing solid football so far this year. The Redskins are trash. This is the kind of game that I like to have on in the background on a Sunday morning while I’m doing other things.

Fox Late

Ravens @ Seahawks

Lamar Jackson is here to save us from another boring Seahawks game!

Sunday Night

Eagles @ Cowboys

I have had a good run of getting Dallas Cowboy football on TV – and we get another game this week. The Cowboys have been so frustrating to watch in the last few weeks – Jason Garrett needs to figure it out or start packing. I’ll be nervous watching this one.

Monday Night

Patriots @ Jets

The Jets looked good last week – they dominated the Cowboys. With Sam Darnold back – maybe this will be a decent game.

Wrap-Up

I am officially grading this as a “Solid” week of NFL action in Portland. I decided to take the grade up a bit – for the first time all season (I think) – we do not have to suffer through a Pittsburgh Steelers game.

The Portland Metro Area Gets “OK” NFL Games: Week 6

Last week was a pretty decent week for NFL on TV in the Portland-Metro Area. I did botch the schedule though, we ended up with the Raiders and Bears in London instead of Vikings @ Giants like I projected.

Here is what we have coming up for Week 6:

Thursday Night

Giants @ Patriots

Not the worst game to get on TV. A rematch of a couple memorable Super Bowls. Will be interesting to see the Giants play the Patriots with Daniel Jones under center instead of Eli Manning. It is really unfortunate that Saquon Barkley is likely out for this game.

CBS Early

Texans @ Chiefs

Mahomes vs Watson. I’m all in on this game.

Fox Early

Seahawks @ Browns

The Browns were awful last night. The Seahawks look pretty solid. I will be watching the other game anyways.

CBS Late

Cowboys @ Jets

The Cowboys need to bounce back after consecutive losses. I am looking forward to this offense playing against the terrible Jets.

C

Sunday Night

Steelers @ Chargers

Who decided this game should be in primetime?

Monday Night

Lions @ Packers

I hate the Packers. I will be pulling for the Lions in this one. Hoping for a wild west shootout on Monday Night.

Wrap-Up

I am officially grading this as an “OK” week of NFL action in Portland. They took a pretty big dump on us with the primetime matchups. Of course the Patriots, Steelers and Packers all find themselves playing in those game.

The Portland Metro Area Gets Decent NFL Games: Week 5

Thursday Night

Rams @ Seahawks

As I have previously mentioned, many times before, I hate that we always have to watch the Seattle Seahawks on TV. If I wanted to watch a Seahawks game bad enough, I could drive up there. I don’t.

The beauty of the Seahawks playing on Thursday is that they do not eat up a time-slot on Sunday. I am hoping the Rams destroy the Seahawks.

CBS Early

Patriots @ Redskins

This is a gross game. At least there is another game on TV in the morning this Sunday.

Fox Early

Vikings @ Giants

Daniel Jones vs Kirk Cousins. I know that everyone had this circled on their calendar when the schedules came out.

Fox Late

Packers @ Cowboys

The Cowboys need to bounce back after a tough loss against the Saints. Hopefully they can shut down Aaron Rodgers and the Packers.

C

Sunday Night

Colts @ Chiefs

This game is alright. I love watching the Chiefs – and prefer to watch the Colts with Brissett as their QB.

Monday Night

Browns @ 49ers

This should be a fun Monday night game. Baker and the Browns against Jimmy G and the 49ers. This is the best Monday Night game of the year so far.

Wrap-Up

This is a pretty decent week of NFL action – things are looking up Portland!

The Portland Metro Area Gets The Worst NFL Games: Week 4

Thursday Night

Eagles @ Packers

For the Thursday Night game this week we finally get the chance to see the Packers play football. Wait, let me check with the stat department…this is the third time we will get a Packers game in Portland – it is only the fourth week of the season.

CBS Early

Patriots @ Bills

This game actually worked out to be decent. Two undefeated teams. This is much better than the next game I am about to write about.

Fox Early

Seahawks @ Cardinals

CBS Late

Vikings @ Bears

What is the deal with only one game being on in the afternoon? This is an OK game to get on TV – but not something I am circling on my calendar.

C

Sunday Night

Cowboys @ Saints

Like my mom says, “about f****** time we get a g** d*** good football game to watch on Sunday night.” She doesn’t actually say that – but I am glad I get to watch a Cowboys game.

Monday Night

Bengals @ Steelers

Wrap-Up

Honestly, whoever is scheduling Monday Night Football this season needs to lose their job.

The Portland Metro Area Gets The Worst NFL Games: Week 3

Week 2 of the NFL season provided the Portland-Metro area with a disgusting slate of NFL action. Will week 3 be better? Kind of. Thanks to YoutubeTV, I have the schedule much earlier than I usually would. However, with YoutubeTV I don’t get NFL Network – it looks like that won’t matter for me this week.

Thursday Night

Titans @ Jaguars

This is a disgusting game. The only thing that would save this game would be a Color Rush matchup of Tufts Blue vs Teal. We won’t get that. What we do get is a matchup between two PAC 12 LEGENDS: Minshew vs Mariota, what we have all been waiting for.

Fox Early

Broncos @ Packers

I have officially graded this game – A+ DON’T CARE. A rematch of Super Bowl XXXII – but instead of Favre vs Elway we have the electric personalities of Rodgers vs Flacco. No thanks.

I would much rather be watching the Dolphins @ Cowboys. Dak and the crew will put up 70+ points.

CBS Early

Ravens @ Chiefs

This is the game of the week for me. Two undefeated teams square off in what will hopefully be a 63-56 shootout. Pat Mahomes and Lamar Jackson – the question is, who will be responsible for more fantasy points?

CBS Late

Saints @ Seahawk

Cool, another Seahawks game as the only option on TV at this time. At least we will get to watch the New Orleans offense with Brees at the helm…oh wait…he’s hurt. This game is officially declared the Take a Nap game of the week.

Sunday Night

Rams @ Browns

This should be a fun game to watch. We have a ton of star power, and I kind of like that this is a game with two teams that don’t play each other regularly. I would love to see both offenses light up the scoreboard – but something tells me this will be a low scoring game.

Monday Night

Bears @ Redskins

It is like they pulled two random teams out of a hat and ended up with one of the least enjoyable possibilities. We have the Bears, who get far too much attention for the amount of success they have had. We also have the Redskins – and Case Keenum – ew. This will be a 13-6 game.

Wrap-Up

We have two watchable games this week. If you are planning your Sunday out:

  • Watch the Ravens @ Chiefs at 10AM
  • Take a nap (better use of time than watching the Seahawks play)
  • Run some errands (better use of time than watching the Seahawks play)
  • Walk the dog (better use of time than watching the Seahawks play)
  • Do some laundry (better use of time than watching the Seahawks play)
  • End the weekend with Rams @ Browns
